Tailored CHLOE, Fall RTW 2010

Oooh how i LOVE a good bit of tailoring. minimalistic colours, classic cuts and gorgeous fabrics... CHLOE shows us how its done. i love this fall RTW 2010 collection, its effortlessly stunning and so SO feminine in possibly the most masculine way possible. i especially love the jumpsuit in the first image, with its contrasting accessories and pleating detail. :) Doesnt fashion just spoil us sometimes...?

Thursday

Valentino's gorgeous ruffles.

o-la-la Valentino! i must admit i adore this collection. amazing tailoring, beautifully muted colour pallet and fabulous feminine details... its a winner! this is the Valentino fall RTW 2010 collection. i love the use of over sized ruffles to create volume, movement and drama. the introduction of feathered coats is a welcome change from fur which is seen in so many of this years collections from other designers. A great twist on a winter wardrobe!

Wednesday

McQueen. The last collection.

Alexander McQueen... a true fashion legend. A genius at his trade and one of the most creative minds the industry has ever seen.
This is his last collection. At the time of his death the 16 piece collection was only 80% completed. the collection was quickly finished by him team and presented in a simple catwalk line up, far from his typical extravagant shows.
The collection of course is beautiful, and everything we would expect from McQueen. these are a few of my favourites...

Monday

IM BACK!

ok... so i actually didn't take much of a break, maybe im addicted to blogging?!
im totally stressing out today, as my project is due in tomorrow and i still have sooooo much to do... but im getting there.
thought id show you all a few pics from the photo shoot i did yesterday. my theme is 'grandad dont go crazy' and based around my grandfather who suffers from dementia. in the project ive looked at elderly male clothing such as baggy jumpers on the female form... combined with patterns from brain scans. its weird and completely different from anything i have ever designed before, but i guess the whole point of this topic is to push me to do something different.
the model in the images is my housemate lauren :)

Friday

Christophe Decarnin says bye bye to minimalism

At last a collection and designer i am very fond of! once again Balmain's Christopher Decarnin shows us that minimalism isnt always best! his RTW fall 2010 collection is fabulous! from highly embellished mini dresses to gorgeously designed cut away coats. in my opinion a real success and highly inspirational!!

Tuesday

Emilio Pucci... fan or not? im undecided

so, i have come across the design label Emilio Pucci (now run by the late Emilio's daughter Laudomia Pucci) and i cant decide how i feel about the label/brand. out of the 40 something piece collection there were only four outfits i liked... the rest were in my opinion bland, unimaginative and nothing new. BUT the pieces i did like... i loved. especially this gorgeous blue Grecian style dress. for me the collection just didnt work as a package, which is why i find it so hard to judge as one thing.
if you want to see the complete collection for yourself check out this link...

and let me know your opinions.

Monday

D&G Proves that cold weather doesn't have to mean baggy jumpers and bobble hats!

As the weather in London this morning is FREEEEZING, i think that a bit D&G fall 2010 is quite apt! i love this quirky twist on ski season glamour!! of course the garments are completely unpractical, and if you stepped out in snowflake jumper hot pants in the middle of winter you would not only freeze but also be put of the crazy list.... but to be honest who cares! let me know what you feel about this risqué winter wardrobe....

Sunday

My very own piece of Vivienne!!

The best part of my day today... a phone call from my very excited mum telling me she's bought me a t-shirt!
now... at first i was slightly confused as on the very rare occasions my mum buys me clothes, its often a bit of a disaster... but not this time! My lovely mother has done good and bought me aVivienne Westwood Haiti Charity T-Shirt!!!
Im so excited! not only do i get to own my very own little piece of Vivienne, the proceeds also go to a great cause/ charity :)
when i go home in a few weeks for my birthday, il take some pic for you all to see :) but for now heres what it looks like....

Saturday

Oh Stella... haven't you spoilt us!!!

STELLA MCCARTNEY s/s 2010

This season i am truly in love with almost every piece in this stunning s/s collection. feminine loose tailoring, gorgeously bright patternsamongst minimalist nudes and creams, mixed with lace and oversized frills and pleats... YES PLEASE!
ive picked out a few of my favourite pieces from the collection below...

Friday

LFW, Fashion Forward award winner, Louise Goldin

"The Fashion Forward scheme sponsored by Coutts & Co and supported by the London Development Agency, was established 4 years ago to provide funding to talented emerging British designers to show and develop their businesses in London. "

Louise Goldin is one of britons leading new designers. she studied for seven years at Central Saint Martins as well as working as head designer at Tereza Santos in Brazil for two years. her talent and skills are incredible, and her latest catwalk creations have proved to live up to the high standards she has always set.
her S/S2010 collection won this years LFW Fashion Forward award. she joins the like of other designers such as Giles Deacon and of course my favourite new designer Erdem. the collection was elegant, sassy and completely in tune with the style and trends seen from the leading designers. powerful silhouettes and body con shapes defy the the traditions of knitwear.

it is so exciting to know we have such amazing talent and skills in London, these are a few of my favourite garment from the show;

Wednesday

TWO DAYS IN
My second day of blogging... and i think i might be getting the hang of it... sort of. Im planning to do a few outfit posts tomorrow, ive just bought the most gorgeous Topshop dress to wear out on my birthday, id love all your opinions on it when i put it up. :)
thanks for taking he time to look at my very bare blog...

LADY GAGA SHOOT

These are a few months old, but it was a really good exhibition so thought id post up a few pics.
Show Studio FASHION REVOLUTION at somerset house. amazing show case, and a Nick Knight photo shoot with LADY GAGA :)... although she was looking drastically more dulled down compared to her normal self. The show also featured Alexander McQueen's film TRANSFORMER: THE BRIDE GROOM STRIPPED BARE which was amazing. so soon before the tragic news of his death. the fashion world has lost a true legend.
